Art School
Last month's theme at GoS was Art Nouveau. It's not a style that I've ever really paid much attention to before, but I discovered a bit of a love for it during the theme, and came up with this as my contribution: a beautiful piece of furniture by the incredible Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh, translated from real life to the best of my ability.
There is more information about Rennie Mackintosh here, and on this piece in particular here.

This is a brand new mesh, with 596 polys.
I have made both base-game and all-EP versions of the mesh. The meshes have slightly different names, and won't overwrite each other, so please make sure that you have the correct version for your game! Both have the same GUID (and the same internal model names), so recolours of one version will work for the other.
There are two separate recolourable groups: the wood and the tiled surfaces.
The surface is counter height and has two slots. To add more I would heartily recommend SilentLucidity's OMSPs, which include a functional counter OMSP that will enable your Sims to use the surface for food preparation (should you wish).
It appears in the catalog under 'Surfaces - Miscellaneous', and since it's a work of art it isn't especially cheap at 450 Simoleans. ;)
Also included in the download are eleven lovely tile recolours and three wood recolours by the marvellous ZeroDark - including plain wood recolours of the tiled areas - plus a bonus tile recolour and wood recolour by me.

{if you only have the base game, or DON'T have EPs that add new functions to certain objects - such as Pets - then delete the mesh included in this download and grab the separate base-game mesh below}

Just in case anyone would like to recolour the mesh, I've also put together a small pack of recolouring resources, including plain grey wood textures for use with colour actions, and some shading overlays:

I'd tinkered around with other people's meshes for long enough that I decided I was finally ready to take the plunge and have a bash at one of my own - I had one or two sticky moments, but it was good fun. I've also now got more ideas for new meshes, but they will have to wait...
RCs
I just wanted to let you know that I made a recolor of this for BPS. If you want it, I can send you the recolor for you to check out. :)
Thank you so much for this awesome mesh!!! :D
Re: RCs
I'm very excited to hear that someone has recoloured my mesh already. :)
There's no need to send it to me in advance, but of course I would love to see it, so a link to your post on BPS would be great!
Re: RCs
Here are also some pictures of a few more recolors I'm working on currently! :D
