Silk Mill

The lot is packaged unfurnished except for the bathroom and kitchen fixtures that are visible in the floor plans. I've also removed all pay content from the Sims2Pack file, so you will need to download the following if you don't already have them...

Cyclonesue:
Industrial Age brick plinths
Industrial Age chimneys
never-ending privacy windows
urban signage
Urban Renewal drains
CCTV camera from Urban Renewal security kit
Urban Renewal elevator kit

Windkeeper: La Fenetre windows

wideopeneyes: floor edge cap, basic set

Birgit: simple elegant fireplace from living room 1

nanu: column from Herka living set

Also, as per Buggybooz's instructions, I have not included the KitchenBasic fridge (although there is a space for it in the kitchen); please follow the link and grab the correct version for your game from MTS2.

Included in the RAR file are some Maxis recolours (one my own) for the apartment doors and wooden beams, and the animations for Marvine's spiral stairs, all of which you will need to install manually (i.e. bung in your downloads folder).

The lot is zoned as residential so that you can furnish it to your own taste; simply use the cheat changelotzoning apartmentbase to convert it to an apartment lot when you are done furnishing.

Finally, I have all EPs and SPs (except the Christmas one); Apartment Life is definitely required, and although I don't think I used anything from any other EPs I can't be 100% sure. I would recommend using Sims2Pack Clean Installer to install the CC and lot.

Thanks, Barb! I don't know about talented, but I do really enjoy it - making stuff for Sims is the only means I have of doing anything creative. :)

wonderful lot!

Thank you so much, Mocha - I have to credit you and Bree for inspiring me to try my hand at more building - it's thanks to you two really that this lot even exists! Oh, and by the way, I thought you were an imposter for a minute, as you used capitals! :D

LOL
no no no, my dear. if you notice my capitals are ONLY used for emphasis. :P

Thanks, miss_iari!

The bedroom furniture is an old set, but still one of my favourites, from SimFreaks - you can find it here (Vivid bedroom set): http://ls.paysites.mustbedestroyed.org/booty/ts2/simfreaks/objects/bedrooms/vivid_bedroom_set/

This is WONDERFUL -many exclamations here- Do you think its possible to have this in my game if I don't have all the sp's? I have all the ep's: just wanted to ask before I hunted down all the equipment it comes with.
Thanks!

[identity profile] bagfran.livejournal.com 2009-11-09 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much!

If you install with Clean Installer, I think it should be OK, even if you don't have all the SPs - although, to be honest, I don't think I used anything from any of the SPs anyway. :)

Okay- that's great news, thank you for getting back with me about it.

I've just found your journal, and I must say that as much as I love your recolors and such, it's your houses that leave me speechless. I'm very interested in architectural design as it's what I plan on studying when I finally get around to going to college, and I'm just in awe of your mad building skills. It's quite ironic that I can't build anything like this in my game, yet I want to be an architect myself. Grr... xD

I didn't want to spam your journal by leaving comments in every one of your entries, but I just wanted to let you know that I adore your work. Thank you for sharing with us. <3

You're very, very welcome, and thank you so much for your lovely comments - they have really brightened up a grey and miserable morning!

Grabbing this with glee - it is gorgeous! I hope you upload future lots, as this one is so lovely :)

[identity profile] necromunchy.livejournal.com 2009-12-07 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't stop admiring this lot.
As if you took it right from my imagination and put it into the game.
Amazing.

[identity profile] bagfran.livejournal.com 2009-12-10 08:30 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks, putana and necromunchy! I am working on another lot - when my game agrees to cooperate with the project - it's a little different to this one though... :)

Will have to wait to download until the booty is back up so I can get all the cc, but I so love the look of this lot. Reminds me a bit of this hotel I stayed at in Albert Dock in Liverpool last year. All those old details combined with a modern style. I loved it. I've been thinking for a while to make a British-style neighbourhood in my game, and this might be enough inspiration to start.

Yeah, I was worried for a while that TSR had managed to hack the booty or something. Thanks for letting me know. :D

Gosh, this is over 10 years old?

Anyway, I went to dl the lot for my downtown and the file has disappeared. Woe. Can it be found anywhere else?

EDIT: Never mind, I found it! Now let's hope all the extras are on the booty still...
